Senta Schmatzberger has been working on the topic of sustainability for 13 years. She has a strong focus on energy efficiency and circular economy, which she put to work during her time at the German Environmental Action (DUH) and the Buildings Performance Institute Europe (BPIE). There she focused her work on energy efficiency policies in buildings with a strong link to social policy and multiple benefits, looking at buildings as part of the energy system, analyzing possible pathways to decarbonizing the diverse European building stock. In the past she worked for a diverse range of companies and non-profit organizations on topics ranging from renewable energy at Deutsche Bahn AG, to climate change with the UNFCCC secretariat.
